Call 1-800-432-6590 - A New Toll Free Way to Urge Your Senator to Support Real
Medical Liability Reform
The Coalition to Ensure Patient Access has created a new toll free service that
will connect you directly to your state senator's office in Tallahassee so that
you can tell him or her to pass meaningful medical liability reform.
It is very easy to use. On Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am
and 6:00 pm, call 800-432-6590. Operators who are trained to assist you will
staff this number. An operator will ask for your zip code and what message you
want to give to your legislator. The operator then patches you through to your
senator's office. (We are targeting callers to senators for now since medical
liability reform is sitting in the Senate). If you call after-hours, leave a
message and an operator will call you back the next day.
When you get through to your senators' office, you should make the following
points:
-
Identify yourself as a constituent and why you are interested or impacted by
this crisis
-
Tell the senator's staff that you are concerned that healthcare providers and
services are being driven out of Florida due to liability insurance and
lawsuits.
-
Ask the senator to support meaningful tort reform such as HB 1713, passed by
the House of Representatives and the Governor's Task Force recommendations.
